October 14, 2010

Today was a busy day! Photo-shoot days usually are. I am trying to take advantage of this beautiful Indian summer and get as many shoots in as possible before the weather turns. Today we shot in a cornfield in Pleasant Grove, one of the last standing cornfields in the valley. Surprisingly, the stalks, leaves, and ears were green, again unusual for the time of year.

We filmed the Savior and some of his apostles passing through the cornfields and grabbing some corn, only to be confronted by the Pharisees on their lack of observation of the Sabbath Day.  These shoots are pretty remarkable because they set the tone for me before I ever pick up a brush. Sometimes I forget the sacredness of what we're doing here. It wasn't that they were eating on the sabbath, but that they were technically working (threshing) on the sabbath.

A final word of the day. I am so very grateful to all the people who contribute to this work.
